| I knew Randy at the Academy, but I did not know him well. We had the periodic class together and of course training. He and I were in the same Signal Officers' Basic Course. On a humorous note, my sister was driving to Ft. Gordon from Bessemer, AL for the weekend. I wanted to go bowling and I needed to find her a date. My intention was to ask Randy to go with her. The next morning in class as I approached him, I noticed he had a broken leg and no way could have gone bowling, so I didn't ask him but asked another member of the class of 1975. She married that guy. Far too late I learned that, in retirement, Randy lived about a 15 minute drive from where I lived. |
