Be Thou At Peace

| Jeff, Rob VanDeusen and I met as roommates in beast barracks. Rob was the stract one, Jeff kept our spirits up and I kept us in trouble. Jeff always was helpful working with me to learn the days. He was full of humor and loved life and was a good friend. I remember calling him when I saw his name associated with the Crusader weapon system. He spoke fondly of his wife and family- his true gift to the world. Charley Ford will probably remember meeting and later getting a letter from James Cagney. Jeff's forum arranged for this lecture. What wonderful memories Jeff and Mike Connors made for us through the Fine Arts Forum. I still remember Jeff's smile and infectious laugh. I remember Roger Kaplan stopping in our room to visit in beast to just get away from the pounding and to talk with Jeff and Rob. I remember Jeff laughing after a SAMI when the regimental commander "ice skated" on our floor we had polished with Pledge furniture polish. The company commander and the platoon leader had to help him get up off the floor. Good memories of a great guy and friend. |
