| I'd first heard of Duane's death while stationed in Germany, and two images flashed before me: one was of his insisting all of us in I-4 call him by his first name, rather than just his last, and that we all do the same for each other; the other was how he and his family took my girlfriend and me under their wing during our first Spring "break"--he and his parents drove us to NYC, invited us to activities during the week, and later checked in on me after the break to see how I was doing. His energy level was incredible, his enthusiasm was infectious, and his loyalty to friends and kindness to all was deep. God Bless Duane. |
