Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Vic Pasini '74 on June 19, 2002:
I had the opportunity to not only know Sean at West Point, but also worked with him at Texas Instruments 6 years later. We seemed to constantly cross each others paths. Then he went on to Anthem Electronics where I worked with him on several programs. Eventually we linked up again here at Arrow Electronics where Sean was helping us get into the 20th century, IT-wise. A savy businessman, a dynamic leader, he was tremendously respected by everyone he worked with in this industry. I have attached Arrow Electronic's president's comments.

"It is with great sadness that I inform you that Sean Powers, our long-time Arrow and Anthem colleague, passed away this morning after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Sean first joined Arrow in the early 80's in our San Jose branch, advanced to become General Manager of that branch, and then left us in 1985 to join Anthem Electronics, where he rose to become its President. In 1994 when Arrow and Anthem merged, Sean came back home, first ensuring the successful merger, then continuing to run Anthem as its President, and then leading the development of Arrow's Internet Strategy. Sean officially retired from Arrow at the end of 1999, but came back once more to help us by running Chip Center, one of our internet investments.
Sean was a consummate professional, an extraordinary manager, and a wonderful friend to many. We mourn his loss and offer our deepest sympathies and comfort to his family, while at the same time remembering the support and joy he brought to so many of us.
Arrangements for a memorial service are being made and will be posted on Planet Arrow when the details are finalized."
