Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Darrell Peebles on May 31, 2022:

Rich, I was perusing the eulogies today, May 31, 2022, one day after memorial day, and saw that one of the nicest, most considerate, and smoothest classmates I knew had only two personal eulogies. Granted you weren't a gregarious soul, but you touched more lives than some know, including mine. Maybe, like me, others find it difficult to put just how into words. I see it this way. When things got crazy at school, when BOHICA was in full effect, one of the calmest and steadiest people is sought out if for no reason but to confirm the right way to respond. I watched you, and very few others. I knew you from your association with my bud Calvin W., but in getting to know you, I knew I found a special kind of guy. Everything I ever heard about you confirmed it. Now you can better understand why I went to visit you when I heard about your illness. I'm so glad we got together for lunch, and shortly afterwards, classmates joined with you to greet your old coach, Mike K. Rich, you were the cream of a heck of a crop, and I hope your family appreciates that some of us knew it, if not all of us. God Speed, Rich.
