Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Manuel JF Hernandez on October 2, 2015:

Keith-Don!
I look at photos of our youth and recall a classmate who treated me like a brother and his family/ies who treated me as one of their own. I see a cadet who was strac when he needed to be and the life of every gathering he was a part of. I see you in my thoughts and I hear you mimicking our favorite Co G1 Firstie, "Ey Fly, you got a shirt on?" or "Ey Clown!" or telling jokes or stories that kept the rest of us in stitches. I recall the welcoming to your home in Indy and getting to know your wonderful folks/brother, and feeling at home. You were the consumate leader, a loyal classmate, a lifelong friend, and a man of honor and integrity and, you exemplified our class motto - Proud and Great - at all times. You were a just man who lived his faith fully and who walked humbly with his God and treated others with respect and dignity. I shall miss not seeing you on my periodic visits to Indy but I shall carry a treasured memory of the times we were together on the Hudson, walking the halls of West New South or crossing paths over the more than 40 years we have known each other. I offer prayers for your eternal reward in the presence of Jesus and for all of us, who will no longer see you until we join you in heaven. You have served Him well, good and faithful servant; be thou at peace. Much Love, in Christ, Manuel
