LTC DOUGLAS C. PALMER, U.S.ARMY (retired) was one of the finest men and finest Soldier's I had the honor of serving with during the height of the Cold War in Germany. His outstanding leadership, coupled with his exceptional tactical and techinical skills in NATO HAWK, resulted consistent mission readiness and sustained high morale during this 24/7 NATO Air Defense Mission. As the Battery Commander, Doug my right arm and I am very thankful for his dedication, integrity, and commitment to our Army and our Nation. He was always there for me and our Soldiers/Families during long, cold days and nights in B/2-62 ADA, Butzweiler, Germany. All who know him will miss him greatly...Lest we forget. May He Rest in Peace. |
