Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Mark L. Work on November 4, 2020:

My heart goes out to Carol and their family on the passing of Kevin. He (and Carol) were in G-3 while I was in H-3 - usually just right down the hallway in MacArthur barracks. I got to know Kevin better in Plebe boxing when one of the instructors wanted to teach me 'hand speed.' He had me spar with this guy from New Hampshire (that my roomie told me was a high-school All-American in Lacrosse), Kevin Macgibbon. Though I think I outweighed him by twenty pounds or so, Kevin taught me 'hand speed' - that he had in in abundance and I didn't! After the sparring, he asked if I was okay. I always appreciated that. Then as barracks neighbors for the remaining time at West Point, I don't recall a day when I didn't see him smiling. Thanks, Kevin! I am so proud to have known you and to be called your 'classmate'. Rest in Peace, my friend!
