Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Colin Vernon Goodson on June 18, 2019:

Man where do I even start, being the son of such a smart, loving, kind and amazing person was some big shoes to fill. I was always so proud of how you were a graduate of West Point Military Academy, I remember a time when I was young we had to tell the class in school where our parents went to school and I was assured in my mind that no one was better than where my father went. Harvard, Yale, Brown were a few names that came up but non compared to the grueling 4 years of boot camp and extensive studies of West Point. You were my hero and always will be. You were always so great with people and could talk to anyone with out hesitation, which my wife has said I have inherited from you ;) I always am trying push to do better because of you and always know you are watching over myself and my two beautiful children you never got to meet and my beautiful wife I know you loved and were so happy to see me with. I don't have a day that goes by that I wish you were still here. Your accomplishments in life seem to amaze me as I get older but what I remember the most is your huge heart and willingness to help anyone in need. I love you dad and I'm taking care of mom the best I can and whenever that day comes for us to be united, I know you will be there with that big smile and open arms. Love your son Colin
