Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Stephen Westbay on January 6, 2012:

I feel bad that I have not posted anything for Billy till now. He was friend of mine while we were stationed at Fort Campbell KY. We were both helicopter pilots, but in different units. As seniors at West Point he was the Regimental Commander. He showed others that even though he was high ranking as a cadet, he was still only a soldier at heart. He was liked by all and is deeply missed. I remember the day that I found out about his helicopter crash. His life was cut short as he did the thing he really liked to do, fly. We met each other in flight school and had some classes together. He always had a smile on his face because being an Army Officer is what he wanted to be and what he was destined to be. I have no doubt that he would have become a GENERAL. I hope that God is happy to have had him as his General in heaven. I hope I get to see him again. We miss you Billy, but know that you have been watching us from above.
