Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Duke Nishimura on November 16, 2016:

RIP John, we all join hands and bow our heads.

John was my ski patrol buddy, road trip companion, extended family and respected friend. John was always quick to offer help to anyone whether it was in academics, on the slopes or among our schoolmates. He was a genuinely good-hearted man who was generous with his time, talents and solutions. His family in upstate NY shared the same love of humanity and people. Academically and professionally, "The Professor" was tops in his class and field. Even when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, he calmly and analytically researched his options and set out to solve for the best solution available. Unfortunately, solving for C was one of the very few solutions for which he could not create an immediate and long term solution.

We are heartbroken for those he left behind, but comforted in that he will get to visit with his parents again, whom he lost too soon in his life. I can imagine that he is still taking a pragmatic solution-oriented view of his situation and will figure out a way to make sure his wife, 2 children, family and friends are taken care of.

We will miss you John. You were a good angel on earth and now in Heaven.
