| Having been in Iraq a short time, I only got to meet COL Allgood once, but his passing has touched me a great deal. In reading his achievements, I discovered that we have been in the same three stations at varied times in our respective careers. I would not have wanted this to be my last opportunity to meet or his. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, and especially his son, at a time when fathers and sons meet at that crossroad between childhood and manhood. Knowing he will take his final rest in my hometown gives some solace, no more beautiful place could be chosen for such a man, husband, father, son and friend. God's blessings to all the family and friends who must go on and have suffered more greatly than I in his passing. |
