Be Thou At Peace

Posted by CSM(R) Sandra Townsend on January 28, 2007:

I had the privilege and honor of serving as then LTC Allgood's Command Sergeant Major, when he commanded the 232d Med Bn. His leadership was crucial to the development of the improved Combat Medic training that has resulted in numerous lives being saved. As stated by many, he was a humble leader who commanded respect not by his position, but because of his competent decision making, his integrity, dedication to the mission, compassion, and innate ability to treat everyone with dignity and respect. Always mentoring, always training, he never missed an opportunity to help others grow and learn. He led by example and was always visible, whether it was on the PT field, early morning road marches, or at the training site. Soldiers sensed his dedication and were eager to follow his lead. We have truly lost an incredible leader and human being in Col Allgood's passing. As many others, I owe him so much for the positive impact he had on my career and life and I will never forget him. To his family, thank you for sharing him with us and the many sacrifices made to allow us to be part of his life. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
