Be Thou At Peace

| It has been many years since we sat through our classes together at the Academy. I remember Lara's smile and sense of humor; she made each class go by faster, and many of those classes seemed to last an eternity. From her sense of humor to her "on target" comments about life and West Point, I will always remember Lara for her ability to see beyond the present. She made sense of the ambiguous and kept her head up despite the challenges that West Point (and life) presented. She never gave up. Even though she has been taken from us early, she gave all she had to all of us, regardless of her role -- classmate, friend, and - with confidence I will assume - family member, wife and mother. Thank you, Lara, for being my friend. I will never forget you. |
