Rudi and I were together in H-3 at West Point. Rudi made me envious. I would be burning the midnight oil trying to study and get a gazillion things done and I can only recall a handful of times when I saw him studying hard. Everything came pretty easy for Rudi. I remember Rudi was a star man (top 5% academically), a Brigade boxing and wrestling champ and all around good guy and friend. He was always there for any of us in H-3. It saddens me that Rudi got taken out in the prime of his life. Take care old roommate and may you rest in peace. Paul Werner, H-3, 1983 |
