| Dave and I arrived at Ft Ord in the same March 1986 month and joined the first battalion that had transitioned to the Light Infantry concept outlined in 1984. It was an amazing time to serve in the 7th ID(L), the Ranger Division. Dave was a PL in B Co and I was in A. Later we served as XOs and then on the battalion staff. He was a consummate infantryman. He did everything so very well. And he was a hell of a lot of fun! We worked hard and played hard. He was the best. A true friend. Much love to Shel. God speed, Dave. |
