| I was assigned with Tommie while in Saudi Arabia as a personnel sergeant. I enjoyed talking with him, and his amazing humor. On the day of his death, he was actually doing the job that I would have normally done by going into headquarters to pick up administrative documents, mail, and supplies. I will never forget him, as it could have been me that day. We had a memorial for him while still in the desert, several days after the accident. I had alot of guilt after his death because I thought that I should have been there, but I realized much later that it was God's will, and although it will not make him be missed less, it has eased my pain some. May he truly rest in peace. |
