Tommie William Bates

West Point, 1986

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Wade Cook on December 23, 2004:

Tommie put on a (nearly) one-man show for Founders Day at Fort Stewart, Georgia. The year was either either 1988, 89, or 90. The show was a take-off on "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and was about a young man's first experiences at West Point. Tommie played the young man as he went through Beast Barracks and cadet life.

The show was hilarious -- really funny, with Tommie's excellent comic timing. Tommie also had a serious point to make; he attacked, via satire, the notion that West Point graduates are robotic and can't think for themselves.

Tommie's evident talent was tremendous.

May God rest his soul.
