| I was leaving the Army and Georgia just as Tommie was arriving at Fort Stewart. He and I and Van Oler met for a drink in downtown Savannah, where we reminisced about our days in Old South (D-1 and E-1). I recall Tommie telling me he never bothered to file his income taxes, so I always remember Tommie at tax time. Ironic because that is not what he would have wanted to be remembered for. RIP Tommie, you have been missed. |
