Be Thou At Peace

Posted by David Ley on January 31, 2012:

Chris and I were in the same squad during Beast and I loved his outlook on life. He was so proud of being from Miles City, "the 7th largest city in Montana", which was always good for a chuckle. He also carried a photo of his football team "mooning" cars on an overpass in Miles City, and would proudly point to one of the pale butts and claim that it was his!

On R Day we had our hair cut together and everyone in the barber shop laughed, including him, as his long, golden locks were cut off (his hair was long and straight, going about 3-4 inches below his shoulders)! I believe he planned it this way to provide some comic relief for everyone on what he knew would be a rather stressful day.

Chris was always uplifting and encouraging, always had a good, corny joke, and he loved life, and God. I will see him again, and maybe we'll both "moon" other saints as they come thru the gates.
