Lee Charles Smith

West Point, 1986

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Troy Roper on July 31, 2020:

Lee Smith was my best and closest friend. He is the reason I went to West Point. We were in high school together, went to R-Day together and luckily had our last semester at West Point as roommates. I wish I had the proper words and eloquence to describe what a great and fantastic person, friend, father and husband Lee was. While at West Point Lee found his soulmate in Kari Lynn. One of our favorite family stories is Kate and I skiing with the Smiths in the alps while stationed in West Germany. After getting out of the Army we didn't talk as often but when we did it was as if no time passed. I think of Lee often and reminisce on all the many, many great times we had together He will be missed.
