Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Raymond Coulon on June 23, 2010:

In March of 1997 we were to get a new buyer for our China programs where I was Boeings on-site resident Quality Assurance Manager. That buyer was to be Grace. I was leaving the program and moving from China to Japan. I suffered a heart attack my last day in China but was still able to make it out to Hong Kong and into a hospital. At that time, I had not met or ever spoken to Grace. While in the hospital, I get a phone call from her checking to see if I was OK. She did not know me or I her but she was concerned for my well being. That is the type of person she was. (I am having a hard time saying "Was") That was the beginning of a friendship that has lasted over 13 years. We have gone off riding my horses into the back country of Washington State many times as well as having lunch and doing the things that friends do. I just spoke with her last week and had no idea she would be leaving us. My heart is heavy, my eyes are not dry and I will miss her greatly.
