I had the privilege of serving as Grace's lead professor during her course of study culminating in an MBA with an emphasis in Contract Management from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. After learning of her death on this past Monday, I dedicated to Grace my recently submitted article to the National Contract Management Association's Journal of Contract Management. That dedication reads as follows: "This article is dedicated in memory of Colleen Grace Olson, who passed away on June 13, 2010, She was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a distinguished Army officer, a Senior Procurement Manager with the Boeing Company and an outstanding graduate of the California State Polytechnic University's MBA program in contract management. This author had the distinct privilege of serving as Ms. Olson's professor and later knowing her as a distinguished colleague and a dear friend. She consistently displayed the highest standard of commitment and dedication to contract management professional excellence and will be sorely missed. Affectionately dubbed as "Amazing Grace" by many of her close friends, she will never be forgotten."
