Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Vicki Flack on July 9, 2010:

Grace was one bright shining light in an often dark and dreary grey place called West Point. Her infectious enthusiasm kept us smiling, and her smiles reminded us to not take Cadet and Army life too seriously. We kept in contact over the years after graduation, visiting when we could, either in Seattle or St. Louis. Our plan was to attend the 20 year reunion on a chartered yacht tied up in the Hudson River. We also were working on getting back to our Cadet weight for that fun weekend (or as close to it as we could!) Sadly, "life" got in the way and neither one of us could make it. I wish we did. We made a pact, Grace and I, that one of us one day would be the Oldest Grad to place the wreath at the Thayer Monument. I'll be thinking of her when I do that. Be at Peace, Grace, I miss you friend.
