Be Thou At Peace

I am a cadet that had the good fortune of spending my first two years at the academy with MAJ Olson as my TAC Officer. I can say without reservation that our company was always the envy of the rest of the Corps -- E2 was known as the place to be, and we owed that to MAJ Olson, or MAJ O as we called him. He was able to guide without interfering, giving us responsibility and lending his confidence. We did not do things because we had to -- but because we did not want to let him down. I hope loved ones can take some comfort in knowing that we share your loss. Before the news of the accident traveled to us, I had reflected on my experiences here, and MAJ Olson was at the front of my thoughts. He will continue to be someone I strive to emulate and I know his impact will be seen in the Army for years to come as we serve and lead. I promise we will work hard to make him proud. GO DAWGS SIR! |
