Be Thou At Peace

| Although I graduated from WP several years before Matt, I met him on the 3d ACR Regimental Staff which was Matt's first assignment out of WP. He was the Regimental ADA officer and I had an opportunity to work with him for about 8 months. He was a fine officer who had a bright future ahead of him. I deployed with him on Reforger 88 to Germany and spent a lot of quality time with Matt. He did an outstanding job. While he survived 7 weeks of Reforger, the weekend after he returned, he was tragically struck down by a pick up truck while walking on a sidewalk in a small New Mexico town, just outside of El Paso, TX. I won't soon forget the short time I was fortunate enough to have known Matt. |
