Be Thou At Peace

| I am a member of the West Point Jewish Chapel and attend Friday evening services fairly frequently. Being somewhat introverted, I kept mostly to myself unless speaking with the rabbi. Jeanne Hutchison was the first person to introduce herself to me and make me feel comfortable and have a sense of belonging as a congregant. I met her two children and found out her daughter will soon become a West Point cadet. Jeanne's devotion to her family, the cadets she mentored as a troop leader, and the people she interacted with at the Chapel was quite evident. She gave of herself to make the West Point community and the Nation a better place, and she succeeded. I never really knew her personally, but it was quite clear she was special, and I will never forget her. |
