Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Todd Erickson on January 8, 2019:

I played football with Mike, and enjoyed every minute with him in the trenches. I served in Germany with Mike, which leads me to a memory I'll never forget.

We were enjoying Oktoberfest quite a bit, and when I saw Mike across the Hofbrau Haus tent, he waved and tried to come over to where I was. Well, it was extremely crowded, and there was no way Mike could make it to where I was standing. So Zarro just got up on the tables, and walked over about 3 rows and 5 tables to where I was, telling all of the Germans that he had to come and see Big E! Nobody was going to tell Mike he couldn't do that, and we had a great evening together drinking beer and reminiscing about our days playing football together.

Whenever I think of Mike, he brings a smile to my face. A truly genuine, wonderful guy. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I miss you buddy.
