Be Thou At Peace

| I lost track of Al after our class graduated. Alan was a plebe in Feb of '86 when he was informed his country had overthrown the government of Ferdinand Marcos and, unknown to the greater public, any high ranking officers and their families were most likely murdered. And just like that, overnight, Al had no family left as far as he knew. The mental toughness of that young man made me admire him. But I saw his classmates embrace him and knew he would have family that only a fellow member of our rockbound highland home would understand. Slow salute to you Al Cordova! Be thou at peace. |
