Be Thou At Peace

Posted by MAJ Andrew Sullivan on November 18, 2006:

I had the honor of serving with LTC Finken when we were part of 1/6 and then 2/2 IN. I had the good fortune of being his company executive officer from Dec 96 - April 97. I loved him for his sense of humor and ever present good attitude. He was a great guy to work for. I was in MND-B with 3 ID for 2005. The 101st rolled in during the latter part of my tour. I did not then know he was there. Now I wish I had been paying more attention and sought him out for a cold one. (near beer that is). I regret being that close and not knowing it. I returned CONUS on 18 Dec 05.

To Jackie and the rest of the family- Michelle and my prayers (as well as those of our little ones) go out to you. I have a photo of Paul that I found about 2 weeks ago of he and I in the company HQ (C CO 2/2 IN) pointing at our charlie brown christmas tree decorated with various army sundries. As always he had on that grin that was his trademark.

If anyone can reach Jackie - let her know that I will give her the photo or email it to her should she desire.
