Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Pam (Heckathorn) Shaw on August 30, 2007:

It is so hard to even put into words all that James meant to me. I will never forget the moment I found out (very early in Beast barracks) that we were both from Nebraska. Only five people from Nebraska that year and we both ended up in D3. I had even remembered him from a year earlier when we were both attending Boys' and Girls' State. Who can ever forget that skinny, little black kid impressing everyone with his gymnastic skills. I can see him clearly today...

I will always have a special place in my heart for James. He helped me get through four very hard years and I can never thank him enough. He made me smile, both then and now. I am heartbroken at his loss, but I know he is looking down at all of us and will always be there when we need someone to talk with. Thank you for letting him share a part of his life with me.
