Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Queen E. Jones on May 31, 2008:

"It did me proud". It made me real proud at a Concert at the Landmark Theater in Richmond during the Memorial Day celebration to stand in honor and memory of Capt. John Wesley Lewis, Jr. Before the band played the Army Theme song, the audience was invited to stand to honor a "son" or other loved ones who had served our country with pride and honor in each branch of the military. I whispered to Dad and Sabrina I'm standing for John. When the Army's song was played, I jumped to my feet!
My heart swelled with pride and love. During that brief time as the band played, I felt almost as tall as our John.
I am just 5 feet tall. Mom Jones
