Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Pamela Lewis, sister on June 19, 2009:

Good-to-the-Morning, Brother.

I write this after so, so many years of missing you. It just hurts so much that you are gone. Mom and I think of you every day. Mom has momemts when she gets so very sad because she has survived 2 bouts of lung cancer and is still here, but not you--her son. We both know how much you hated her smoking. It's hard on her at times.

Mom lives with me now in Silver Spring. I moved her up here (you'd be proud of me cuz I did it all by myself) the end of February this year. She has quit smoking (again) because she has "No choice!" She doesn't know her way around and I won't buy cigarettes for her.

At times she just gets so very SAD. She wonders why you left us so early and what she could have done to kiss all your "boo boo's" away to make everything all better like she did when you were a baby. It's even hard for her to look at your pictures because she still cries for her lost son.

Just know that no matter what you felt, did, or didn't do... your mother, Lillie Lewis, will always love you unconditionally.

NO ONE CAN REPLACE YOUR MOTHER'S LOVE.

We love you, John, like no one else can. You and Dad keep watch over your dear mother and sister.

Dreaming of your smile to brighten our day!

Later
(Cuz goodbyes are forever & you are ALWAYS in our hearts.)
