Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Kevin Lingow on February 2, 2006:

John-

I was meaning to call you, but it's a little late for that now.

You see, my sister Carrie died recently. Going through her house, I found an old photo of you and me in our full dress, with a 14 year old blond with a big smile, between us.

That was Plebe Parent Weekend. There was another photo from Graduation Week. I was, honestly, an arrogant ass to my family that week. Which of us didn't feel a little superior? Except for you, John. You thought enough of Carrie to ask her to pin on one of your 2LT bars. She treasured that moment.

I don't know why you chose to to treat my family so well, but thank you. Now you're in heaven. Please say hi to sis and give her a hug.
