Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Tom Jarzen on February 3, 2006:
John,
I am truly saddened by your passing, but I know you have been called to continue the mission at a higher level. You will be missed and those that you leave behind will feel great sadness, but your time on Earth has been productive because you have influenced, led and inspired so many.
From the earliest moments in B Company at the Prep School to the present, I have been proud to call you my friend; and I will continue to call you my friend until my ?course on Earth is run.?
I remember you as an immovable rock of determination, perseverance and persistence in all situations. You defeated every challenge and conquered each obstacle. Whatever your next tasks are I know you will meet them in the same manner. Thank you for personifying the ultimate example of a soldier for all to emulate. I know our Army and our country, and the people you touched, are better for your Service. ?May it be said, Well done!?
Although it was many years ago, I still remember one of our last physical meetings at the Victoria Restaurant in Anniston, Alabama and the wonderful dinner with Trudy. The years have kept us separate, but you and Trudy have always been in my thoughts and prayers. ?Be thou at Peace.?
And Trudy, my heart goes out to you. I have known you from the Beginning at the Prep School as well, and as a Company mate in A3. I truly empathize with your loss and Pray that God takes care of you and your family. I know that He will so I am comforted and relieved as I hope will you be.
Tom
