Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Kevin S Crouse on February 14, 2006:

John.

It's been a couple of weeks now since you left us. I thought maybe with a little time the pain would ease, but to be honest, I think it gets harder every day. We were pretty much always around each other during the day in our routine, so everywhere I go, I am reminded of you. I still look for you to pop your head around my office door and yell "WHAT UP" and give me that grin of yours. No matter how bad the day was that always cheered me up.

I so enjoyed meeting your family and friends at your funeral. It was almost intimidating being in the presence of such high caliber people. Your "West Point Connection" is bar none one of the most impressive groups of people I have ever met. I am so happy to have had the honor of meeting them. John it is so clear that you attracted excellence and demanded just that of yourself. I am truly a better man in so many ways just to have known you.

We called each other brothers and even though we had different parents we were truly brothers at heart. I remember so many good times together at work and at play. I may have a lot more bikes in the future but my "gixxer" will always stay around to remind me of the times we had on them. I rode your bike to your memorial service on Thursday, I drove it into the chapel and displayed it right there in the front of the room. I think you would have been proud. And yes when I left, I LIT ER UP. I swear I could here your laugh as that bike was screaming. John I miss you so much.

Until we see each other again "Bad Boys For Life" I love you Brother!

Shanley and Brie miss their Uncle John too!!

To Mom and Dad Jones, I love you guys and thank you so much for your welcome into your family. I look forward to the times ahead.

Mom Lewis and Pam if you need me for anything you just call me, I am only a plane ride away.

Trudy, I Got You.
