Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Michelle (Dunne) Beasley on June 29, 2009:

I visited Jim's gravesite at Arlington this weekend and later watched the guard change and taps play at a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It was a humbling, proud, and touching moment all at the same time and I think my husband and kids were very surprised to see tears running down my face - as was I.

I was a year behind Jim on the swim team and after getting to know him, I am quite sure the West Point grey flowed through his veins. He was so proud of the academy and so loyal to his friends. I hadn't thought of him in years till I saw him on this website a little year ago and vowed I would visit him when I went to Arlington.

To Jim's family - I know you must be proud of your hero. We thank you so much for your sacrifice.

Sincerely,
Michelle Beasley
