I knew Jim well. He was my Operations Officer while we were assigned to the Dallas Recruiting Battalion (Dallas, TX). Jim was a man of conviction and morals. Not that I needed to stay on the "straight and narrow" path on life, but Jim was there constantly to remind us all that "good does conquer evil" in the real world. I never knew of a more courageous and decent man than Jim Walton. He was "my" best man at my daughters wedding in 2000. I will always miss him and think of him often.
