| Bear was a Cow in D3 when I was a Plebe. He developed the most creative form of hazing - ever! While I was waiting for the telephone in the basement of our barracks, Guy ordered me to come into the D3 dayroom. I told him that Plebes were not allowed in the dayroom to which he replied, "Are you ignoring an order from me?" I quickly hustled into the dayroom hoping that no one would see me. Bear then ordered me to sit down and asked me what I wanted to watch. It was torture. I can't remember what we were watching but when something funny happened, Bear burst out with laughter and I did not. "What's wrong McCabe? Isn't that funny? I'm ordering you to laugh." Bear was always good for a laugh. He had a unique ability to differentiate between the important and trivial. |
