Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jim McInerney on October 16, 2012:

There are so many great memories of Dario "Mad Texan" Lorenzetti. I started my time at WP with him in my squad. The knowledge he gained as a "Fish" at Texas A&M proved useful for all of C3 plebes because we were constantly asking him for help. As always, he delivered. We spent weekends in NJ, spring break in Texas and days at WP hazing plebes. Even as a cadet, he was the utmost professional, polishing his belt buckle with his hand for an hour before dinner (when we just had to go pick up a sandwich bag). He took great pride in all that he did and I took great pride in knowing him.

I have been telling stories about Dario to my friends and family for years. I was devastated to hear the news of his death and feel a deep loss in my heart. I hope my words can offer some comfort to his family as they can see how much an impact he had on so many lives. I can honestly say that he was instrumental in getting me through plebe year. I was blessed to know him and know that he is looking for the Sandhurst course in heaven. Be thou at peace my friend.
