I remember reading of the death of Stephen and these fine soldiers in July, 2005. Stephen's death was particularly poignant only because I live close by in Brookfield, CT.I was in Virgina on the beach on vacation at the time. Like it was yesterday, I remember telling my son, Julian the news. He said they died "doing what was right." Julian, today is a new cadet finishing up his cadet basic training at West Point. The sense of duty and purpose he has comes from the example set by the likes of Stephen Reich. God bless his family. I know the loss is too much to bear. Rest assured, however, Stephen's death was not in vain. Phil Christe |
