Be Thou At Peace
Posted by JEORGE BELER on September 10, 2005:
Its been more than 3 years since the MH-47 Chinook special operations helicopter crash. I can still vividly remember the great amount of news about it and still kept newspaper clippings on BALIKATAN 02-1 exercises of which Cpt. Owens' unit, the 160th SOAR was part of. Im deeply saddened by the loss of such exceptional men in the Global War on Terror and as a Filipino who loves freedom and democracy, their sacrifices shall remain forever in my mind and heart. The flame of freedom certainly grew stronger and the Filipino people will never forget. I have a picture of one of the nightime flights that the 160th SOAR did in the Philippines during the exercise and if that was Cpt. Owen's Chinook, they were indeed doing a masterful job. Joined from the sky to the sea, your legacy will remain alive.
