Be Thou At Peace

| I am so struck by Major Leonard's being the age of my daughter; a few days before Major Leonard's death (a cowardly assasination), my daughter gave birth to her third son. A time of rejoicing in our family preceded a time of great sorrow in the Leonard family. How can we thank adequately those who defend this Country in far off, hostile lands? The simple answer is that we can't. But, we can remember and honor them. Knowing that freedom is not free, we can always remember that our freedom is purchased through the selfless service and sacrifce of persons like Major Leonard. May God bless and keep her and those she loved. PEACE. |
