I never knew Mark as a cadet - I met him when he was the S-4 for 1-22 IN and I was the XO for A/3-66 AR (which later became D/1-22 IN). He was a great guy who truly cared about his job, his unit, and everyone around him - and it showed. When he finally got his command in B/1-66 AR, I was sad to see him go - he was a great guy to work with. But, he was finally getting to do what he wanted to do - lead troops again. Your men were blessed to have you as a commander, and nobody who ever served with you will ever be able to forget you. Be thou at peace. |
