Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Erin Springsteen on February 16, 2001:

Nate was in my company plebe year. I sat at his table for many, many a round. He was one of the funniest people I have ever known. There are more stories about Nate than there is time to tell them, but everything from his as-for-spirit uniform (tight sweatpants and a 1979 basketball referee shirt) to his fascination with the Backstreet Boys, he was a trip. Alot of people will remember the WKDT incident and the time he had a female civilian in his room, but it was his actions on a day-to-day basis that made him stand out.
One day the Com came to our lunch formation to commend the company for doing something well, then asked if anyone had any questions. Nate piped up with, "Sir, why can't cadets wear mustaches?" The Com's look of disgust was worth a hundred laughs later on. He was funny, but he was also a good guy. He will be missed.
