10 August 2012 Dear MAJ Kennedy, Sir, I am extremely distraught to have learned of your passing and the passing of three other Americans from enemy suicide bombers on 8 August. The risks of deployment touch home when we learn of your and the other heartbreaking deaths. Without your service and sacrifice, America as we know it, would not exist, for there are others within and outside of America wanting to subjugate it with their brand of tyranny. Fellow Americans and I owe you and your fellow fallen warriors a debt of eternal gratitude, for you have given the last full measure of devotion in your love of America and your family. Thank you and farewell brave defender of Freedom. Dear Family, friends, and colleagues of MAJ Kennedy, I share with you the pain of your sacrifice in losing your loved one; the grief is beyond expression and I hope that time will move as swiftly as possible to soften your suffering.
