Thomas Kennedy

West Point, 2000

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Linda Caldwell on August 13, 2012:

We feel a special kindred spirit toward Thomas, because of the close relationship he had with our son Chad Caldwell (USMA 99). Chad and Thomas spent time together at West Point during Chad's assignment as a teacher and Rugby sponsor. They went on to Fort Carson and 4th Battalion of the 4th ID. Chad worked out with Thomas regularly before being deployed to Afghanistan. Then, they reconnected when they worked together at Battalion Headquarters in Afghanistan where Chad is currently serving. I know that Chad, like us, is devastated by the loss of Thomas and the others he was with on that fateful day. Although we never had the opportunity to meet him, I know that he was an outstanding brave young man dedicated to his family, friends and country. He will be greatly missed by the friends he left behind and the battalion where he worked endlessly to improve relations with the US and Afghan forces. Words can not express the sadness we feel as Thomas is laid to rest. Please accept our sincere sympathy.

Linda and John Caldwell
