Benjamin Tiffner

West Point, 2000

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Brian Hurley on November 12, 2007:

I served with Ben at Fort Lewis in C Company, 1-23 IN with a group of perhaps the finest men I have ever known to date. We called ourselves the super-team because of how well we bonded and worked together and how much respect we had for each other. Ben was an awesome officer who taught me much even though I had a bit more time in Army. He truly cared for his soldiers, was tireless in his efforts to improve himself physically, mentally, and spiritually, and was simply a fun guy to hang out with--we had quite a few "LT's Time" downtown Seattle.

I remember when Ben came back from Iraq the first time before going into Special Forces. He was so excited and I remember being a bit awed by his enthusiasm and professionalism. He was a real warrior-leader who led from his heart and his faith in God.

He will be missed.

I express my condolences to the Tiffner family and will pray for them and Ben.

Sincerely,

Brian Hurley
