Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Giao Do on October 27, 2003:

I first met Dave during the summer between my yearling and cow year. It was Buckner Two detail which no one wanted. He had just graduated from scuba school. I was the second squad leader and he was the third squad leader. It was then that I found out that Dave was going to the same company that I was being scramble too. I was excited because I had very possibly found my roommate for my final two years. However, Dave went to Air Force Academy for the first semester of our cow year. When he came back, I got to know Dave very well and we spent a lot of time together. I roomed with Dave our first semester firstie year and got to become very good friends. Dave was an inspiration to all of us. He was an athlete, scholar, but most importantly he had a kind heart. You knew he was always going to be there for you no matter the circumstances. I have fond memories of Dave, from branch night to OBC to going to Chad Mihalek's wedding night. I am truly saddened by his loss. You will be missed and are loved by all of us.

To his family, I am truly sorry by the loss of Dave. He had a great deal of impact on people, and always brought a smile with him. God bless Dave.
