Dave and I were in H2 together as cadets, and when I think of the sacrifices that our class has made he always comes to mind. He was one of our best. My family and I were touring the grounds at Ft. Hood this fall when we stopped to reflect at a monument to soldiers lost in the current conflict. Not recalling what unit Dave served with I was surprised to see his name on one of the plaques, and surprised that it had been 6 years. I was sad again for his loss, proud of his service, and glad for the opportunity to tell my two young sons about a great American who gave his all. |
